Raven Rising #5: Love Flume

The fifth episode of Raven Rising! This episode was recorded long before Soldiers of Halla was released, and so is entirely spoiler free for the tenth book.

-Belated Pendragon news: D.J. MacHale tour, D.J. MacHale e-mails, Pendragon games.
-Raven Rising has exceeded its bandwidth on Pod-o-Matic, which means we will be taking down earlier episodes to make room for new ones. The early episodes will still be available for direct download here: http://www.filefactory.com/f/1bd4226913a34b6e/.
-Raven Rising has BIG NEWS to make! At the end of the show, that is.
-Pen Pals discussion of Loor. Well, sort of. We end up tangenting about shipping and arguing over random Pendragon subjects.
-Halla Hypothesis: what did D.J. MacHale mean when he said, “How do you know there are only ten territories in Halla?” We don’t come up with many answers.
-The introduction of a brand new segment that we literally came up with while recording: Random Ravens! We have an extensive discussion of many Pendragon ships.
-“Spader flirts with anything that moves.” “Like Thomas the Tank Engine. IT MOVES!”
-There can’t be an episode of Raven Rising without some argument between Jonathan and Anna over Elli Winter, apparently.
-The real war for Halla: everyone fights for Saint Dane’s affections!
-The BIG NEWS is announced! Details will be coming shortly.
-Shout outs to people who have reviewed us on iTunes! Thanks again to Pendragon…, lostinhalla, and Melodicall!
-Also a shout out to our second voice mail caller! Even if we don’t exactly know what you said.

Raven Rising #4: Super-Duper!!

And we’re back! This week’s episode is much better than the last, if we do say so ourselves.

The main topic of this week’s show is Before the War: Book Two of the Travelers. If you have not read this book, please do not listen, as THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

-Pendragon news: Soldier’s of Halla cover released, D.J. MacHale's Facebook page, and contest for the first signed copy of Raven Rising.
-Special discussion of Before the War: Book Two of the Travelers! Again, if you haven’t read this yet, SPOILERS ABOUND!
-Carla versus Walter? Sorry Carla, but Walter wins on sparklyness.
-Discussions of Aja’s, Elli’s, and Alder’s stories, including our opinions and analysis.
-Saint Dane’s role: how active was he before Bobby became a Traveler? Why was he around more in Book Two than Book One? And why does he keep winking at everyone?
-Is Nak really Nevva?
-Morals and lessons that we’re not sure if the characters actually learned.
-Press: how big of a role does he play in the other Travelers’ lives? Is he too all-knowing? Does he have the same capabilities as Saint Dane?
-Lengthy talk of why Anna hates Elli.
-SD? Well, it obviously stands for SUPER-DUPER!!
-Here comes Elli’s necklace (again)! What is up with this necklace?
-The importance of the letter ‘t’.
-Confusion over the Penultimate Traveler of Denduron.
-Shout-outs to everyone who has sent us feedback!
-We talk about the cover of the Book Three: Before the War. This book will hopefully be the discussion of our next episode.

Raven Rising #2: Yay For Acceptance!

And we’re back for our second episode of Raven Rising! This is our special Before the War episode, where we talk entirely about Before the War: Book One of the Travelers. If you haven’t read this book, please don’t listen to this episode, as THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

-Jonathan and Anna welcome you to the show! Ethan will not be a co-host on our show anymore. We may or may not be looking for a third co-host in the future.
-Jonathan tells his story ‘in a nutshell’ of getting Before the War.
-We talk about the latest Pendragon news: Before the War came out, and pronunciation guide released. And Anna and Jonathan squabble some more, of course.
-Extensive Before the War: Book One discussion! Again, SPOILERS ABOUND!
-Who wrote the darn book?
-Discussion and analysis of Kasha’s, Gunny’s, and Spader’s stories.
-Yay for acceptance!
-We may argue, but we really do love each other. Awww.
-Discussion of the themes of prejudice (or lack, thereof).
-Jonathan continues to assume that all of our listeners are idiots.
-We really hate Spader, in case you couldn’t tell. Please e-mail/call us with your reasons for why he is an awesome character.
-‘I’ve been watching you.’
-We really want you to call and/or e-mail us. If you don’t, we will be sad. And the world will stop spinning.
-We are original. Sort of.
